Australian Turkish Friendship Memorial Marks the ANZAC Centenary

The Australian Turkish Friendship Memorial Sculpture, ‘Seeds of Friendship’, created by sculptor Matthew Harding, was officially opened on Monday April 13 2015.

The ceremony,  which was presided over by Tectura’s Serdar Baycan and attended by the Victorian Premier and other community leaders, marked the culmination of a five year long collaboration between the artist, Tectura Architects (as project convenors), and the Victorian and Turkish sub-branches of the RSL.

The community-driven nature and socially-cohesive objectives of the project were recently recognised at the Premier’s Design Awards, where ‘Seeds of Friendship’ was selected as a finalist in two categories.
