KINGSTON CENTRE
MONASH HEALTH
The Kingston Centre redevelopment provisions a person-centred care service plan, where patients, residents and their carers are considered an integral part of the healthcare team and community.
The Person-centred care has implications for every aspect of clinical practice and — when developed to maximise its potential — helps to define how patients, residents and carers interact with providers, how clinical services are structured, and how facilities are designed and maintained. The design promotes agency for its users, creating active and encouraging environments.
The facilities include 370 sub-acute beds plus extensive ambulatory care services, specialist diagnostics, as well as mental health and aged care facilities. Borrowing from the existing natural colour palette and surrounding context, the design promotes patient independence and security as well as purposeful circulation both inside and outside the building.
Tectura has undertaken campus master planning, feasibility studies and schematic design for the Kingston Centre in association with STH.
