Currently in construction with the appointed contractor, Building Engineering and due for completion on the 16th November 2022, the new STEM centre is bringing advanced and specialised learning facilities to Blackburn High school with the new design creating an engaging and vibrant learning hub for students.

The multi-functional use of the spaces is directly linked to the school’s pedagogical needs and aspirations, producing lively environments that allow students to study in spaces fitted with state-of- the-art technologies, expanding the educational possibilities for both staff and students. These spaces include 3D printing rooms, multi-media classrooms, integrated science labs and multiple exhibition and workshop spaces.

The design provisions a variety of contemporary and flexible teaching and learning spaces that supports the school’s education and design rationale. With advancements to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics facilities introduced through the project, the design embodies the future vision of the school.

Tectura is excited to work alongside the Blackburn High school community and the VSBA, whilst continuing our longstanding commitment to design quality education projects with a particular focus on STEM education that enrich student learning possibilities.

A valued asset to Melbourne Polytechnic’s refurbished Greensborough Campus is the Melbourne Innovation Centre, an internationally acclaimed business incubator providing expertise, training, programs and networks to help grow sustainable business enterprises, create work opportunities and boost economic development.

At the Greensborough facility there is a collaborative working space for up to 30 people, as well as 24 offices—including some with sliding partitions to form larger areas—a breakout area and a mixture of small-to-medium-sized meeting rooms.

The success of the Melbourne Innovation Centre is contingent upon the cross-pollination of ideas. Tectura’s design supports this by providing a plethora of flexible work spaces to choose from to nurture spontaneous discussion and idea generation.
